A sign for a better world.

On 30. October 2024

The film premiere of the documentary “A sign for a better world” took place in Zurich on October 30. The film impressively covers the work of Hogares Bambi, which supports socially disadvantaged families in Colombia on their way to a better future. On behalf of the Babmi International Foundation, Ms. Hilda Burger-Calderon, Vice President Switzerland, accepted the Dr. Rau Award for the Foundation’s commitment.

Hogares Bambi not only focuses on the development of children, but also supports their parents – often single mothers – in achieving financial independence through vocational training and personal development. Their experience has shown that helping the parents is just as important as directly supporting the children, because children can only reach their full potential in stable family relationships.

The children are cared for, supported, and medically monitored by specialist staff at Hogares Bambi’s own daycare center. By promoting education, health, and development, they improve the children’s future prospects. For the parents, Hogares Bambi offers job training in the fields of cosmetics, tailoring, and baking. This training leads to financial independence for the participants. In addition, the parents attend workshops to support their personal development and receive training on parenting topics.
